The company has been hit with a class action lawsuit by three families alleging the company is using its name to promote products it says will harm the environment.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in San Diego, claims Christian dyes sunglasses to mimic the colors of the Earth’s atmosphere, but its logo and trademarks are actually trademarks of the multinational company.
It says the logos and trademarks confuse consumers and harm the brand.
Dior said in a statement that it “will fight the lawsuit and defend our trademark rights in court,” and has already filed a response to the suit.
The company has said it has done extensive research into the issue and will continue to do so.
