The global market for fossil sunglasses has soared to more than $200 billion this year, and is expected to hit $300 billion by 2025, according to research firm Glassdoor.
The market is now bigger than the market for sunglasses for kids.
Glassdoor estimates that the global fossil sunglasses industry has more than 30,000 sunglasses brands selling for between $300 to $1,000.
Fossil sunglasses are designed to blend in with the natural world, and are also popular among young adults.
In the U.S., the industry is growing at about 20 percent a year, Glassdoor said.
“We believe the fossil glasses market will grow by 25 percent annually by 2025,” Glassdoor’s chief executive, Daniel J. Karpinski, said in a statement.
